Gaming Addiction + Quitting
Bros... My last hit of video games was August 20th 2023... This is my (WIP) story...
So basically I have had a full blown gaming addiction from 2013 to 2023. I estimate that I've spent on average between 3.6 and 3.8 hours gaming per day, every day, for 10 freaking years...
I still love the technology involved with running realtime 3d computer games.
TBH I made this webpage more so to embarrass myself out of ever relapsing than to educate on how to give up on a videogaming addiction.
Hopefully I'll be just another one of 'those guys who never came back'.
Dota 2...
I started playing during TI3~ because my mates where all starting to get into it and convinced me to try. At first I hated it because I thought it was a game for nerds, which is exactly why I got addicted!
I have many more than two accounts, I estimate my hours are closer to 6,000 than 5,000...
This game took my life and soul.
My 'main' account (It got shadow banned in about 2021 so I moved to my old rankked account)
My 'ranked' account. This is the account I was 4k mmr in 2014, which for AUS was a lot back then alright!
BF3, my first addiction
I absolutely loved Battlefeild 3. I got halfway to level 100 on my Xbox 360 before my Xbox Live 1 year pass ran out, then when I got a PC in 2013 I got my friend to buy the PC version of Battlefield for me at EB Games (I never paid him back, sorry Ricky). I basically just played Noshahr Canals TDM every day after school all the way up till year 12 when my dota 2 addiction really took off (moreso that bf3 was dying tbh).
But hey, at least I was good at the game lol..
Other Notable Titles
CS2? Never heard of her! I only played it when it was CS:GO, In fact I even bought it!
My 'dota 2 ranked' account, it was much easier to not switch accounts after some dotes
My 'main' account
Super Smash Bros Ultimate: About 900-1000 hours
Minecraft: Surely over 1000 hours, I first played it on the web browser at school in 2009, then my friend emailed me MinecraftSP I think it was version 1.6.3~
Battlebit Remastered: I dont have that many hours compared to other games since I quit gaming after its release, but I played it basically every day.
Despite all that. This type of LAN party gaming is still permissible to me & I wont be counting it as relapsing. :)
